Racing Genk have paid tribute to Anele Ngcongca with their decision to retire jersey No.16 in honour of the late South African international.
Tributes have been pouring in for Ngcongca, who passed away in a car crash on Monday.
But Genk have ensured his name is never forgotten at the Belgian Pro League club, bestowing upon him the honour.
Ngcongca won a league title with Genk in 2011 and went on to etch his name in the club’s history book with over 200 appearances between 2007 and 2015.
The jersey is currently worn by Belgium youth international Elias Sierra.
But he has given up the number in honour of fallen star defender.
