Khama Billiat is nearing full recovery from a cracked leg bone injury.

The Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder started gym exercises and is out of the moon boot.

The 30-year-old sustained the leg injury cracked in his team’s match against AmaZulu in January, and he was ruled out of action for up to eight weeks.

“Three and half weeks into his injury, Khama has started gym exercises and is now out of the boot,” said the club.

The Amakhosi technical team could do with Billiat’s influence as they battle to lift themselves from the depths of mediocrity.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele is also recovering from a niggling hamstring injury.

But it is unclear whether he will be available for the Nedbank Cup opener against Richards Bay on Sunday, due to undergo a scan today (Thursday).

“Rama’s hamstring is still niggling. There is an improvement but he’ll go for another scan today.”

Young Lebohang Lesako, however, will not feature for Amakhosi, being advised to start training next week.
